Performance 100 Quantifies Decision Making

At Performance 100, we've developed a different method of analysing data in football. Rather than looking at player actions per 90 minutes, we assess actions per 100 possessions. As a result, it can be determined exactly how often players attempt certain actions, meaning that Performance 100 quantifies the decision making of players, and of teams.

Let's take a look at an example. The graphic below displays Performance 100 data for Kylian Mbappé, during the 2017-18 Ligue 1 season.

Kylian Mbappé's decision making during 2017-18, per 100 possessions, is shown on the Performance 100 analysis graphic. To learn about how to interpret this graphic, read this article https://performance100data.wixsite.com/p100/blank/how-to-understand-the-performance-100-analysis-graphic.

Around 65 times out of 100, Mbappé decided to pass the ball. The next biggest aspect of Kylian's decision making was his dribbling, with over 13.5 dribble completions or fails per 100 possessions.

At the other end of the spectrum was clearances, as Mbappé only made 0.1 clearances per 100 possessions.
